Cravings

Today started so well. By the time I left work, I had only eaten for 600 calories. So, my thinking was another 800 for the night was plenty!

Hmmm.... it would've been if I didn't give in to a craving of mine - Indian samoosas with a glass of milk on the side.

Meals:

  • Breakfast: crackers with fat free cottage cheese
  • Snack: apple
  • Lunch: two slices of low GI seed bread with peanut butter
  • Snack: apple
  • Supper: salmon pie (like cottage pie, just with salmon) with salad. Was quite tasty - a slimmer's meal, I would definitely buy it again.
  • Snack: Indian samoosas with a glass of milk on the side.
If I had managed to just eat one or two of the samoosas I think it would've been ok, but they were so tasty I just couldn't help myself:-(

Goals for the day:
  • Exercise twice a week for 20 minutes - 1 done, 1 outstanding
  • No snacking in-between meals and snacks - DONE!
  • Drink at least 6 glasses of water a day - had 12 glasses througout the day
  • Allow myself 1 coke a week - outstanding
  • Eat at least 5 fruit/veggies per day - DONE! Had 5 portions of fruit/veggies for the day
  • Track what I eat daily - DONE.
  • Take-out twice a month - outstanding
There is another goal I would like add.... I need to try and eat fish at least 3 times a week. Tuna, Salmon - any kind of fish. There are so many benefits to eating fish, it is just a pity I don't really like the taste of it.

  • Eating fish 3 times a week: 2 so far
My calories for the day came to 2,200. Still under maintenance, but way too much too lose weight.

I had to Google "samoosas". Never heard of them before. Looks like something I could fall in love with. :)

You're right on track with you goals. I wish I could do that good.

I love samosas too. I had a similar day, I don't think I had enough calories before dinner tonight and I was super hungry at dinner. I managed ok, but wasn't full after dinner. Luckily, I waited 20 mins or so and finally felt satisfied. I think you are doing a good job against your goals.

Tamzin, have you tried adding some sliced fruit to your water? It makes it so much tastier to drink.

Diana, rather stay away! What you haven't tasted, can't hurt you! They are quite addictive and so unhealthy!

Kat, I think we should learn to spread our calories over the day. You are such an inspiration to me!
