You know how often one reads someone's weightloss blog and reads how they lost track while on holiday and then you think to yourself - that WON'T be me? Well, I always thought to myself that I won't allow a holiday to ruin my weightloss plans, but as it turned out I have done exactly that.

Weigh-in today: 190,74 pounds.

I am SO disappointed to be over 190 pounds again - all my hard work has been undone:-(

And I only have myself to blame.

Next week I will be back to work and hopefully I will get back on track then.

Weighed in this morning at 189,4 pounds - almost up one pound from last week. I expected this, so I can't say I was surprised.

I just need to get focused again and increase my exercise. Daily tracking will definitely help a lot too!

Missing in action

The past few days have gone past in a blur. I finished work friday, was busy the whole day and finally my leave started. BUT no time for resting. Yesterday was my b'day, saturday the whole day was spend getting ready for my b'day and the whole day of my b'day was spend with visitors. Needless to say I was exhausted at the end of the day and fell asleep 20:30 in front of the TV.

I didn't track my eating this past few days and I am worried that I might have picked up weight, but I even forgot to weigh in this morning. I think if I have to weigh in tomorrow I will definitely be up, but at least I will now where I am starting from again.

Eating went ok today....

  • Lunch: Chicken with salad
  • Afternoon snack: two small fenugreek pancakes
  • Supper: chicken with salad
  • Evening snack: chocolate

No exercise again - was up the whole evening baking biscuits for a family get-together this weekend.

A so-so day - definitely better than yesterday!

Meals:

  • Breakfast: Slice of low GI bread with peanut butter
  • Morning snack: None
  • Lunch: Egg, Spinach and a roll
  • Afternoon snack: None
  • Supper: Pasta
  • Evening snack: chocolate

Again, no exercise.

I weighed in this morning at 188,54 pounds. Exactly the same as last week.

I am not feeling depressed about it. I weighed a few times during the week and my weight got as low as 186 at one point. Aunty flo is slowly on her way and I am pretty sure my weight will be down when she is here - strangely my weight is always up the week before her visits!

Meals:

  • Breakfast: 1 soft rusk
  • Morning snack: Quava juice
  • Lunch: 1 soft rusk
  • Afternoon snack: Quava juice
  • Supper: chicken with salad and corn
  • Evening snack: chocolate

I cleaned the house today and took a short walk.

I needed to rest, I was exhausted!

I walked a lot again today about which I am really happy!

Today was my day off. I attended an open day at the school I want dd to go to next year, had some shopping to do and some errands to run.

Meals for the day:

  • Breakfast: Hot porridge with skim milk
  • Morning snack: chocolate milk
  • Lunch: Salad
  • Afternoon snack: Indian papar
  • Supper: lentil soup and veggies
  • Evening snack: chocolate

Today I finally did get some exercise. Took a long walk with dd - we walked for about an hour at a moderate pace. My legs and feet started to hurt, but I enjoyed it and it felt good.

Another busy day, but meal-wise not a bad day.

  • Breakfast: 1 slice low GI bread with avo
  • Morning snack: none
  • Lunch: 1 slice low GI bread with avo
  • Afternoon snack: glass of milk
  • Supper: Roast chicken with salad and potato wedges

Once again, no exercise.

Another busy day.... My only consolation is that I am taking tomorrow off - not to relax, but to attend a school function with dd. But still, a change of scenery should be good for me. Not having to sit in front a computer the whole day will definitely be a much needed change.

One thing I am disappointed in myself for is that I have not logged all my food in fitday the past few days. I know I didn't go over 1,700 calories, but it is better to make sure. I hope to get back into that habit from tomorrow.

  • Lunch: piece of chicken with salad
  • Afternoon snack: none
  • Supper: burger and chips (got take-out on the way home - no energy to cook)

I hardly sit at my desk at work today. It feels like this busy period is just not ending. Before I can finish one task, 3 more lands on my desk;-( The only good thing about this is not having time to think about food. The bad is that I am so tired at night that I can't even think of exercising;-(

I drank loads of water today, which I am happy about. BUT no exercise apart from running up and down at work.

Woohoo, woohoo, woohoo!!!

I am down to 188,54 pounds!!!! Last week I weighed in at 190,5 pounds, meaning I have lost 1 pound for the week!!

I'm so happy;-)

And the reason I achieved my loss was sticking to my goals:

  • 8 Glasses of water each day - DONE
  • 2 Fruits per day - DONE
  • 3 Veggies per day - DONE
    3 Exercise sessions of 20 minutes each - DONE
  • Stay under 1,700 calories per day - DONE!!!

I think it must be the first time ever that I managed to stay under 1,700 calories for a whole week!!!

Man! I feel good;-)

I woke up ridiculously early and couldn't fall asleep again. So, I got up, had breakfast and went back to bed. BIG mistake, I woke up 3 hours later with a runny tummy again;-( VERY unpleasant.

  • Breakfast: Pita with chicken, cucumber, tomato, eggplant
  • Morning snack: Chickpea savoury
  • Lunch: Crumbed chicken with salad
  • Afternoon snack: Chickpea savoury
  • Supper: Crumbed chicken with spinach
  • Evening snack: Chocolate

I decided to just do some walking for exercise today. Walked for about 20 minutes at a fairly fast pace. I enjoyed it;-)

I have been quite good this week, hope to have a loss tomorrow at weigh-in!!!

I had a busy day today. Took dd to her swimming lesson, had to return an outfit I had bought for dd that she didn't like, did the laundry, had a nap, etc, etc.

Food-wise things went well:

  • Breakfast: Slice of left-over pizza
  • Morning snack: Orange
  • Lunch: Half a pita with chicken, eggplant, tomato, lettuce and cucumber
  • Afternoon snack: None
  • Supper: Half a pita with chicken, eggplant, tomato, lettuce and cucumber
  • Evening snack: chocolate

I had a long walk today - over an hour, it was nice and surprisingly relaxing.

I have been trying not to weigh daily like I used to. For the past 2 weeks I have been doing quite well in this, but it does leave me feeling out of control a bit.

Anyways, eating was not very good - I didn't feel like eating and ate what was available:

  • Breakfast: Shortbread with tea (just didn't feel like eating at all)
  • Morning snack: glass of milk
  • Lunch: Slize of pizza
  • Afternoon snack: None
  • Supper: Slize of pizza
  • Evening snack: chocolate

Didn't do any workout today. I still have a bit of a sore throat and my voice tends to disappear during the day - but I don't think aerobic exercise can do any harm?

Today's eating went quite well, except that I had a bit of a runny tummy in the morning.

The strangest thing happened supper time. I ate because I was hungry, but once I was full the food kind of lost flavour to me. Never happened to me before - I kinda like it;-)

I was tired when I got home, cleaned the house, but didn't do any workout:-(

No workout today - I was drained when I got home.

I woke up this morning with a determination not to eat as badly as I did yesterday. I have done so well during August, except for the last few days, and I definitely want my September to be even better!

  • Afternoon snack: None
  • Supper: Chicken with salad and roll
  • Evening snack: Small chocolate

I did do my 20 minute turbo jam workout again. I realised just how important comfortable workout clothes are.

September 2008 goals

Here are my goals for September 2009:

  • Exercise at least 20 minutes 3 times per week
  • Must have at least 6 glasses of water each day
  • Must have 2 fruits per day
  • Must have at least 3 veggies per day
  • Getting to below 188 pounds
